Dr. Ze Zheng, a post-doctoral fellow in Dr. Tabas' lab, is a 2015 Russell Berrie Foundation Scholar in Diabetes Research. The title of her research is "Dach1:  A Hepatocyte Transcriptional Co-Repressor that Promotes Insulin Resistance in Obesity."   The overall goal of Dr. Zheng's project is to test the hypothesis that the co-repressor Dach1 represses an array of key genes in hepatocytes that contribute to pathologic metabolic pathways in obesity.
